1. What kinds of groups are there? There are a terrific variety of groups. We have groups meeting most evenings and some during the day. They are composed of young and old, all women, all men, singles, youth, young adults, couples, families, people who live close to each other, people who work or minister together, people who share the same occupation, even relatives. There is sure to be a group for you!
2. What are the groups doing? Groups seek to function in the four components of our vision:
| |
Upward |
– |
Reaching upward to God through worship, prayer and study |
| |
Inward |
– |
Reaching inward to build relationships by sharing lives and caring for one another |
| |
Outward |
– |
Reaching outward to the lost by serving the community and evangelizing through relationships |
| |
Forward |
– |
Moving forward to multiply the ministry by extending overflowing love and growing new groups | Group life reflects a balance of all four components. At any given time, however, a group might focus on one, such as a specific outreach or study. Covenant Groups continually, however, seek to grow more groups by developing new leaders.
3. How do I get into a group? Find out more about joining a Covenant group here. search for open groups available by day and type of group. You can also inquire about joining a group at the Covenant Group section of the Gathering Area or by contacting Amy at 651-287-3009.
4. Can I check out some groups before deciding on one to join? Absolutely! Covenant Group leaders encourage group seekers to visit a few times before making a decision, or you may visit a couple of groups first.
5. Where do leaders come from? So glad you asked! Leaders are experienced group members who have had specific leadership training. Some leaders co-lead or apprentice in a group first. Click here for more information or contact Amy at 651-287-3009. Groups reflect a balance of all four components. At any given time their focus might be on one, like serving the community or study, but over time all four components are included. |
