September 26, 2003 Now you see it... now you don’t! "See what?" you ask? Come find out on Friday, October 3, 2003 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Special Delivery is a ministry started by a husband and wife team who perform amazing illusions and share a light, non-threatening message of Christ. Illusionist Dave Horsager spent four years training under one of the best illusionist teachers in the world!
This show is for Woodland Hillers and is $4 per person or $15 per family. All proceeds will be used to support events the very next day: a free neighborhood carnival and another Special Delivery show. These will make up our biggest outreach event ever!
Reaching the neighborhood Door hangers have been distributed to local homes, flyers are out, and ads for the carnival have been placed in four local newspapers.
“It’s not even about getting more people to come to our church; it’s about blessing the neighborhood” says Judy LeMay, one of the staff members coordinating the event. “There will be games for all ages, and we’re trying to get Greg to man one of the booths,” she adds. The event is free and open to anyone.
Some of the planned games are good ol’ favorites: a fishpond, Bingo, ring toss, and a cakewalk. Free food will be distributed as long as it lasts: hot dogs, chips and pop.
There is still a need for volunteers to help with everything from calling Bingo numbers to cleaning up afterwards. It’s a great way to get involved, and an opportunity to reach others from our neighborhood. If you're interested in helping please get in touch with Becky P. at 651-287-2057.
The carnival will start on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and go until 12:30. Special Delivery will put on their show from 1:00-3:00 in the Worship Center.
