 What do we do and what is our vision?
The new Latino immigrants come to the U.S. from a variety of countries and bring a range of resources with them to the United States. It is evident that the growing Hispanic population in the United States presents awesome ministry opportunities. With these ministry opportunities come various challenges. When ministering to Latinos, we feel challenged to provide a ministry approach that is relevant to such a diverse group of people. The issues related to reaching Latinos are not obstacles, but rather opportunities that can be overcome to better present Christ in a transformative, enriching, and meaningful way.
In light of these challenges, the Latino Ministry strives to present Christ to the growing Latino population in a way that is relevant, practical and Sprit-led. We desire to promote unity and growth within the existing Latino congregations in the Twin Cities, in our surrounding neighborhood and at Woodland Hills, by developing support and cooperation to fulfill the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the Latino/Hispanic Community.
We would love to see more and more Latinos from all walks of life feel comfortable at Woodland Hills, feel they can express who they are, their language, culture and backgrounds in ministry and come along a diverse congregation who finds its identity in Christ.
¿Qué hacemos, cúal es nuestra visión?
Los inmigrantes latinos venimos a los Estados Unidos de una gran variedad de países y traemos una diversidad de recursos. Es evidente que la creciente población latina en los Estados Unidos presenta maravillosas oportunidades de ministerio. Estas oportunidades vienen acompañadas de desafíos. Al ministrar a nuestros hermanos y hermanas Latinos sentimos el reto de proveer un ministerio que sea relevante a este tan diverso grupo de personas. Los temas relacionados con el ministerio de, por y para los Latinos no son obstáculos, sino más bien oportunidades a ser superadas para presentar a Cristo de una manera transformadora, enriquecedora y con significado personal.
Debido a estos desafíos el ministerio Latino de WHC desea presentar a Cristo a la creciente población Latina en una manera relevante, práctica y guiada por el Espíritu Santo. Nos gustaría promover la unidad y el crecimiento de las congregaciones Latinas existentes en las Ciudades Gemelas, en nuestro barrio, y en nuestra iglesia desarrollando apoyo y cooperación para suplir las necesidades físicas, emocionales y espirituales de la comunidad Latina.
Deseamos ver a más latinos y latinas de diversos trasfondos sentirse como en casa en WHC, sentir que pueden, que podemos, expresar quienes somos, el lenguaje, cultura, y poder ministrar y ser ministrados junto a una congregación diversa que basa su identidad en Cristo. |
