I wrote this one day when I walked in the door. All the way home I was saying it to Him: “I can’t wait to be with You.” He’s all I can think of when the world is on my shoulders, and I can’t take it anymore – when it feels like I’m left out or that people hate me. He’s all I can think about when I’m angry or sad or fed up. He’s all I can think about if I’m working too much and can’t handle it, and physically I want to drop. He’s all I can think about when I’m not settled in any way. He’s all I can think about when my plate is so full it overflows. I just need to get to Him; I just can’t wait to be with Him.
I Can’t Wait to Be With You
After working all week, and not getting a break It’s you I can’t wait to run to at the end of the day To give you all I have to say
I can’t wait to be with you when I’m running on empty With not much to offer to thee You’ll still want to spend time with me
I can’t wait to be with you when I’m emotionally spent You’ll lift me up You’ll fill my cup
I can’t wait to be with you when I’m physically weak You’ll heal my body and keep me strong
I can’t wait to be with you when no one else will do Lord it’s you I can’t wait to be with, Day and night, night and day
I can’t wait to be with you to pray I have so much to say
I can’t wait to see you, to touch you Just to be with you, someday But for now, today will do.
