In the fourth grade, my curious friends and I wanted to dig up anything we could get our hands on about sex. Back then, besides a few racy Judy Blume books, all we could find were the section on reproduction in the encyclopedia and some cartoonish birds and bees books in the library. It was harmless stuff in comparison to what a fourth grader could unearth today.

Seventy-three forgotten, abandoned children are now well provided for and living without fear at the Living Hope orphanage in Puebla, Mexico. Eight adults and two children from Woodland Hills spent New Year’s week in Puebla ministering to these children and the dedicated workers who now care for them in a safe, loving environment.

Crossing the Rubicon

Crossing the Rubicon

The word “Rubicon” means “point of no return.” It is also a river in Italy. The same river that Julius Caesar crossed initiating a civil war between his forces and those of Pompey the Great. In fact, the phrase “to cross the Rubicon” has come to mean taking the first step and committing one’s self to a hazardous enterprise.
