There once was a garden of flowers Various colors and sizes and styles Each kind separated into clusters In a tapestry that stretched on for miles. The flowers were so beautifully colorful Each cluster added wonder to the earth Yet the colors were not blended but separated in the garden Hence did not display their full beauty and worth. Then one day the gardener decided That these clusters best be blended and mixed So the gardener began scattering in random The beautiful flowers and the tapestry was fixed. The flower clusters once planted solo Then grew together side by side And the colorful beauty of this blending Showed a tapestry where many colors abide. We, like these flowers, can be set in our places With no knowledge of what is beyond our door But the Lord asks us to accept one another To open our hearts to love more and more. Dear Lord Jesus, help us be like these flowers Move us Lord to the places unknown Help us love and embrace all who are different For you created each with beauty all its own. When we embrace and behold the uniqueness That Christ created in each person on earth Then we become the true beautiful body of Christ With its fullness and wonder and worth.
"May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." John 17:22-24
