    A Believer's Psalm

swirling thoughts of a day
      where there’s no more sorrow,
or finally finishing a maze
      that leads to tomorrow,
to bath in the sunshine
      as sweet music plays.
your heart flows with love
like a cool and gentle stream,
and the sadness of yesterday melts
      floating away like a butterfly,
in a summer breeze
eyes wide open, this isn’t a dream,
all your inhibitions are released
      as the skies part ways
and welcomes your soul.
your feet can no longer hold you down,
soaring high over sea,  forest and knoll
the sight of terra is gone.
arms out stretched in this flight
      an aura surrounds you,
drenched in a cleansing light
      to ward off any harm
as you return, there’s a vision of a freshly tilled field
the seedlings of  a  new harvest abounds
the joy of believing,
illuminates a beacon that marks a road ahead
that confides the message you are receiving,
a place at his table you have earned.
with all the wickedness you shred
a reward  of  kindness you are served
with the journey complete, the peace you'll sense
will never relent this power you learned
as you bask in the glow of his majestic presence.
