Approaching the opening hollow hole I feel a grip upon my soul The cold and dark around me bide But yet, O Lord, You're by my side. Feeling the pain, the load so weary Makes my wandering heart so heavy No way out, drawing deeper The gripping pull of a worn out sleeper My dream so vivid, the hue so bright Make sound sleep impossible tonight Tossing and turning within the dream My heart beating fast like a rushing stream. Oh, how long will this nightmare last How much more time will pass? Wake up O soul, open your eyes Awaken the sleepy dreamer inside. Then with opening eyes, see the light The room all around now looks so bright Praying earnestly no more to dream For I want to rest in peace supreme. Suddenly I realize through this nightmarish tale That in the Lord no doom will prevail He saves us from harm that the enemy sends The Lord will rescue my soul in the end.
