Trembling at the altar
Kneeling surrendered in humility
Naked to you
Stripped of my sin

I will sin again
But today I took your standing offer of grace and redemption
And I fall alone before you
The King sees through me
Shaking and terrified of His holiness

I pray harder
Powerless in total awe
Your spirit washes me over
The biggest wave of your presence nearly drowns me in fear

Yet there is more to come
My shame is dropped
My name recommitted
My honor restored

I have not heard your voice
But when you call
It will silence the earthly roars
Prayers answered through the power of you

My acceptance is a commitment
Far more than I can manage
Alone
Without you
I am an uncalmed sea

Once again the mighty King silences me
Jesus Christ
Your name is so precious and holy
My last living words
Will be a tribute to your glory
